WHAT ARE GEL NAIL EXTENSIONS?
Gel nail extensions - They are made from the same gel that gel polish is made of, add length to your regular nails like a press-on, and are as strong and long-lasting as acrylics, but without the powder or the harsh chemicals.
WHAT ARE ACRYLIC NAIL EXTENSIONS?
Acrylic nail extensions - Acrylic nails involve the use of strong chemicals and the formation of fumes.
WHAT LASTS LONGER GEL OR ACRYLIC?
Though cheaper, often lasts longer. Typically, they usually last longer than two weeks and May even last up to a month with proper maintenance. Unlike gel or dip nails, Acrylics are very rigid. They do not require any special curing process like gel nails.

HOW LONG DO NAIL EXTENSIONS LAST?
With acrylics, you'll want to return to the salon after 3-4 weeks for fills (Infill's/refilling are a way of extending the life of false nails and involve the bottom of the acrylic being filed down until it's flush with the growth creating a smooth surface) or removal whereas gels last around 2-3 weeks.
Nail extensions and overlays are a good way to add strength and length to your natural nails. If you tend to bite your nails this can also be a solution; let’s be honest, acrylic doesn’t taste very nice!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEL & ACRYLIC NAIL EXTENSIONS?
When you get fake nails over natural ones it is Acrylic or Gel Nails. It gives extension to your nails and provides them with proper shape. If you are looking for longer nails or stronger ones just get Acrylic or Gel nail extensions. They both are different products, different ingredients, different application techniques, and have different pros and cons.
A blend of gel and nail polish is called shellac, it’s like a polish, which is used to extend your nail. However, it increases the strength and durability of your nail. Compared to traditional Gels or Acrylics shellac is less damaging to nails. The main benefit is that it reduces chipping.
Shellac vs. Gel Manicure vs Gels
As Shellac contains gel in it, so many consumers get confused. This is because Shellac contains gel, so many consumers have mixed up their terminology, asking for a “gel manicure” when what they want is Shellac. So gel manicure is sort of a made-up name for Shellac (people in the industry always use the term Shellac). Meanwhile, Shellac and Gels are not the same services.
